Professor Cidong Huang

Professor Huang took undergraduate study at Fudan University, majoring in English Language and Literature, and graduated in 1955. He pursued graduate study at University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, U.K. between 1978 and 1980 and was awarded MA degree.
Professor Huang was Assistant Professor at Foreign Languages Department, Shanghai Teachers University, teaching Structure of English, Introduction to Linguistics and Lexicology, etc. between 1955 and 1978. He was promoted as Associate Professor in 1981 shortly after he returned to Shanghai Teachers University from Britain till 1986 when he became a full-professor in 1986 and was appointed Chairman of Foreign Languages Department at the university while he taught Linguistics and supervised MA candidates.
He took sabbatical leave between January and December of 1990 and stayed at Long Island University (Brooklyn campus) in the United States as a Visiting Professor, where he gave lectures to MSc. Candidates on Academic Writing. Professor Huang again went to the United States and worked at School of Education, New York University, between January and September of 2000 where he taught M.Ed. candidates on Structure of American English. He joined Sanda University in 1993 and became its Chairman of Department of Foreign Languages, teaching English Composition, Reading and Aural Comprehension. He assumed the position of Dean of School of Foreign Language Studies at Sanda University since 2003.
