According to an Agreement signed between Sanda and the State University of California at Sonoma, every year, CalState Sonoma dispatches graduates with bachelor degrees in the majors of English and Education to have internship at Sanda to practice teaching as well as study Chinese and Chinese culture. 7 graduates from Sonoma stayed at Sanda between 2005 and 2006. Another group of five arrived in September, 2006.

The Shanghai Municipal Education Commission officially confirmed on July 16, 2007 that Sanda is entitled to enroll foreign students. It enables Sanda to issue documents for interested overseas students to apply for programmes in its Chinese and Chinese studies.
