The School of Foreign Languages was established in April 2003. It consists of the Department of English, the Department of Japanese, the Department of Spanish, the Department of Korean, the Department of Russian, and the College English Teaching Division. The School has a strong team of teaching staff. Over 80% of the teachers have overseas learning or working experience and there is a stable team of qualified foreign teachers. Aimed at rigorous scholarly research, down-to-earth cultivation of students and quality teaching, the School has been devoted to improving foreign language teaching, optimizing course structure, broadening professional preferences, strengthening the buildup of teaching staff, and carrying out teaching research, international exchanges and social service activities. The School has been aiming at improving the teaching quality and at cultivating students with strong foreign language application ability. For several consecutive years, the pass rates of our students in national examinations of English, Japanese and Spanish have been higher than the respective national average levels.
